Biofuel flights to Palma with Thomson!

Thomson Airways, the UK branch of the TUI group, have announced plans to start operating flights from Birmingham on a 50/50 mix of Jet A1 and... chip fat!

Of course, there isn't that much excess chip fat around so initially only flights to Palma will be powered on the environmentally friendlier fuel mix.

Thomson haven't announced what the aircraft type will be, but it'll either be a 737-800 or 757-200. Flights are due to start later in July.  On this theme, here's a Thomson Airways 737-800 (without winglets, they're getting rare now!) and still with "fly.com" titles:
Oh, and part 3 of my Edinburgh trip report is coming over the weekend!
