Asia from BHX and a new 757

With Heathrow full to bursting and other southeast airports getting busy too, could flights to Asia from Birmingham be a possibility?

Also Boeing are seriously considering a replacement for the 757, as airlines such as US Airways have expressed interest in a new 230 seat transatlantic narrow-body:

The 757 serves a niche market: for example, the United flights from Newark to BHX just wouldn't be profitable with any other type. The 737-900ER and Airbus A321 have similar passenger capacities but are short on range.
